    2010 - 10.26

Funny how you can get so attached to a lil guy. My dog Jackson, is probably the best gift I have ever received. He wakes up with me and goes to sleep with me, and he has to be right by my side at all times. He loves me when I scold him or have to discipline him. He misses me when I am gone and he waits for my arrival.

I love to see him sleep and play. He is the absolute best!!

    Today’s Food Log:
Day 16- Breakfast: MyFit Foods Breakfast Taco (small), Lunch: Lemon lean Turkey (small) Snack: Spoon of PB

Workout: Ran a 10:40 mile as my warm up. Worked Arms: Bicep, Tricep and shoulders, Worked my Legs: Leg Press and Thighs and finished off with situps and crunches.

    Still Taking Baby Steps

    2010 - 10.26

This weekend was a rough one for the diet.
Day 13: Brunch- Tilapia with mango Pico topping, Green Beans and Corn on the Cob. Snack- Frozen Yogurt with Blackberries and Strawberries. Lunch- Slice of Pizza, Dinner- Sushi Zushi- Strawberry and Godzilla rolls.

Day 14: Breakfast- Migas, Lunch: Tortilla Soup, no Dinner (but drank a Long Island Iced Tea)

Yesterday, I woke up to an upset stomach =( I think my diet has been very inconsistent which is whats is causing the recent stomach problems.

Day 15: Breakfast- Sausage and Eggs taco on Corn tortilla, Lunch: Lenny’s Sub (took of the top bread), Snack: MyFit Foods Turkey Spaghetti (small), Dinner: Small Protein Shake.

I titled this post baby steps, because yesterday I ran a few miles. Its been a long time since I get myself up to that stage and motivation, and this little diet stint has seemed to help me get there. I wish I could have run 6 miles, but in all honesty, it was too bug a leap so I conformed to 3.9. I started with a 2 min 30 sec warm up, then ran until I finished at the 3.26 mile marker.

I completed the last few minutes with a cool down which brought my cardio total to 3.9 miles in 45 minutes. Not the fastest runner in the world, but I really don’t care for speed. Mostly I care about completion!

I hope that I can get to a solid 8 mile run outside before November 14. If I do, I think I will go for the 1/2 marathon. Even if I power walk part of it, at least it would be a start! Yay!

    Legs, Butt and Calves

    2010 - 10.22

Yesterday I was tempted to skip the gym… simply because I came to my boyfriend on the couch and he wanted to chill and cuddle for a bit. What girl in her right mind would skip out on that?!?!?! Well, I cuddled for a bit, but forced myself to head out to the gym for a quick fix. I worked on  my legs by doing some leg press, squats and lunges. I did a few planks and crunches to work on the abdominal area as well. I finished with a quick 8 minute run and then ran back to my boyfriend so we could cuddle some more!

Day 11- Dinner: Beef Fajita meat seasoned with spices and Guacamole with pico de gallo made fresh by me =) No tortillas so technically I stuck to my Paleo!

Day 12- Breakfast: H-Town Breakfast from My Fit Foods (Egg whites, Turkey Bacon small portion), Lunch: CHEAT ALERT!!!!! 2 Chilli Dogs and small fries. I met my boyfriend for lunch at Weinershnitsel

    Fight Night

    2010 - 10.21

Every Day is a fight for us. A fight to get out of bed, to eat right, to make sure you give 100% at work, to fight for your relationship, to fight for what you believe in.

I am in constant battle with myself to get my Crossfit dedication and eating habits back. Yesterday (Day 10) I had sushi for dinner, which was my way of splurging for a good workout at the local gym with my friend Billie.

I worked out for an hour. Ran 1 mile in less than 10 minutes. I worked my triceps, biceps, and shoulders. I did lunges and squats with 2x 7.5lb dumbbells and I did sit-ups and planks to work on my abs.

Day 11 of my little fight with myself!!! Breakfast- I have had some coffee and a MyFit Foots: Migas, small portion. Lunch- MyFit Foods, Tilapia with quinoa and fresh broccoli sm. portion. Snack: Oatmega3 PB wellness bar

I plan on doing some cardio when I get home, either a quick run outside or on the treadmill. I think Cardio is what I need most of right now =( The 1/2 marathon is 24 days away!!!! The Fight Continues.

Speaking of Fights….. tonight Roger Huerta will be fighting Eddie Alvarez. That’s gonna be one hell of a fight!!!! I wish Roger “El Matador” the best of luck!! He will be my inspiration for today!

    Trying something new. Day 10

    2010 - 10.20

I was doing pretty good last week, I kept the diet consistent all throughout the week…. that is …. until the weekend came. Tun Tun Tunnnnnnn

Day 5 consisted of a protein plate for breakfast, lunch I went to Ghengis Grill and had Turkey with carrots, celery and onions. I added Bean Sprouts insteas of pasta.

I had a rehearsal dinner to attend that evening for my lovely friends Sarah and Greg. The dinner was held at Fralo’s pizzeria in Boerne, Tx.  I ate some absolutely delicious pizza and fried zucchini which is NOT at all Paleo. Sometimes, when you are hungry you end up justifying the meal by saing… “oh its only one day!” That One day though is the gateway to day 2 and 3, which is exactly what happened to me =(

Day 6: Breakfast- 2 Ham and egg tacos on corn tortillas, Lunch: Egg salad sandwich, Dinner: Pan-crusted chicken, grilled asparagus and mashed potatoes.

MIMOSA’s and vodka waters followed suit at the wedding reception

Day 7: Breakfast- Grilled Chicken with bell peppers and onions and a Tecate michelada, Lunch- Guacamole salad, Beef Fajita meet with lime juice.

When I came back to work on Monday I was feeling a little down that I had cheated on my Paleo diet. I had a long week ahead of me with work and I knew the time consumption to create my own meals was going to be a challenge.

Day 8: Breakfast- Coffee and protein plate, Lunch- Turkey, Brisket, and Sausage from Rudy’s, Dinner- White Fish Ceviche, Tilapia with Tomatillo sauce and a guacamole salad from Aldaco’s. I also had a Michelada with dinner. (Note to self…. Quit drinking beer!)

Day 9: Breakfast- Coffee and protein plate, Lunch- Tuna Salad (tuna, pico de gallo, and an avocado) Dinner: Lemon Pepper Chicken, grilled asparagus and corn.

When I was driving home from work, i decided that my lack of time was not enough of an excuse to eat badly. So, I went to check out a place that my friend Jenna was talking about during the wedding this past weekend.

Its called My Fit Foods: Fresh Food, Preservative Free and Never Frozen!!! These meals are prepared for you on the go. You can stock up your weekly meals and not have to worry about portioning them out because they are done for you. I bought 3 breakfasts and 3 lunches so that I could try them out for the rest of the week. So far, I like what I have tasted!

Day 10: Breakfast- My Fit Foods Good Morning Sunshine (Turkey, Egg Whites and Pico deGallo) Lunch- My Fit Foods  Killuh Green Chicken (Boiled chicken, cubed and then boiled in a tomatillo/cilantro sauce. This dish is served on a bed of quinoa.) Snack: PB  Oatmega3 bar

Day 10 is looking up for me…. I hope I can finally get my energy back. These My Fit Food meals also have options that are in line with the Paleo Diet. I am going to focus on eating as  healthy as possible without giving myself a million limitations. I need to remain sane!
