Post Christmas WOD
All the tamales and ham have been eaten, your tummy is still full from the dessert you stuffed your face with AND you are tired from all that laying around during the holidays…. How on earth do you recover??
At CCF it’s by saying hello to our friend Nicole! Start with a double unders warm up and get to work! Nicole consists of max pullups until u are unable to do more then run 400m and try again. I completed 64 pull ups and ran 1.5 miles during the 20 minute AMRAP
Self Awareness
Yesterday I ran 3.54 miles. It was rough on my knees. I stopped to stretch a mile into the run. Half way through this run I got sad…. Wanna know why? This time last year I was in great shape. I was lean, strong, and motivated and a 5 mile run was something I did on a regular basis without struggle. Somewhere along the way I lost it… My motivation…. that or I just got burnt out =(
While the scale increased ever so slightly (3lbs), the difference is in my strength and endurance is ever so recognizable. My endurance took a big hit while I was in the semi- workout coma. So now I ask myself, “how do I get my motivation back??” I signed up for the Rock n Roll 1/2 Marathon in hopes that I will get a part of my motivation back. Let’s hope I can do it.
2 years ago it started with a race (San Antonio 1/2 Marathon)…. that led me to join cross-fit (Alamo Crossfit)… that led me to run a full marathon (San Diego Marathon)…. that led me to learn about Paleo (Paleo Challenge- lost 10 lbs)… that led me to be able to do an unassisted pull-up…. NOW WHAT??I got lazy- that’s what.
The battle is NOT over. Its just beginning. I need to get back to a place of motivation! Lets hope I can do it. No more excuses- not work, not my boyfriend, not anything. I miss this girl:
