    Wedding Color Update

    2011 - 07.07

Looks like I got the whole blue tone wrong! It was more of a pale blue… I did some research and found that paired with a pretty chocolate background it actually looks really nice!! What do you guys think?

I think we may have just found our theme!!!!!!!!!!!!! Good thinking Steve :)

    Wedding Blues

    2011 - 07.06

Yesterday I came to the realization that budgeting is now a large part of my life. Graduate School, Old School debt, Wedding, Crossfit? Yea somethings gotta go…. I was naive to think I could have it all. As I start thinking about the wedding and the infinite details that matter within it, I begin to realize how ridiculously expensive the “happiest day of my life” was going to cost me. Now for those of you who know me personally, you know that I am a fan of eloping and doing things the simple way but I am also a Mexican woman who was brought up with very traditional Hispanic values and morals. What that means is that I have a very large family that will want to attend, not to mention the large amount of friends that Steve and I have.

I don’t really understand the above quote because don’t these also apply? “The greatest things in life are Free” or “You can’t buy Love”? HA!!! Tell that to the wedding vendors and flower shops. I have started to think of the things that really matter for that day (Besides the Groom of course)….

#1 Photographer!!! Pictures are going to be the only keep sake we will be taking with us from that day

#2 People (The right people- our parents, grandparents and siblings are most important) and yes… Tanya you are included in this (my maid of honor) Please note- guest list has not been determined due to uncertainty of the wedding size. (We are hoping for something small)

#3 Priest- He has to know Steve and I and speak of our relationship and new adventures to come from someone who knows us individually. Not a generic message that I won’t remember.

#4 Music- for some reason the one thing I look most forward to besides the actual vows are the first dance as ‘husband and wife‘ and the father-daughter dance. This is the moment I have dreamed of since I was a little girl.

Yup- That’s all I have thought of so far. Steve has been great- kindly ignoring my one million questions…. hahaha! Although he did give a response when I asked about a color for the wedding. His answer “blue”…. such a dude  answer :) But one that I can definitely work with!

My mind quickly started turning and ideas continuously popped in….See what one little response does to me?

He’s probably better off ignoring me :)

    Engaged

    2011 - 06.13

Today I realized something. A million questions get asked after you announce an engagement. How did he do it? What did he say? What does the ring look like? Have you picked a date? and so on and so forth…  You want to know what two questions really matter?

    Am I happy? Yes

    Is he happy? Yes

We are extremely happy to have found each other. He is my other half, my heart and my soul. That’s all ya need to know ;) (You like how that rhymes?)

I will tell you this though… no one would understand our engagement story besides Steve and I. Why? Because we are a goofy duo who have a million inside jokes and you simply wouldn’t understand :)

So I leave you with this little message:

    St. Patty’s Bash

    2011 - 03.15

This past weekend I got to experience my first (and last) St. Patrick’s Block Party in Dallas, TX. I must say that it was unlike anything I had experienced before. It was a mix of San Antonio’s Fiesta and a crazy College Party (think Old School). The magnitude of people that showed up in Greenville was insane. I got to enjoy my green beer with my friends from all over Texas: people came in from Fort Worth, Austin, San Antonio, and Houston to make it to this celebration.

Our friends took part in the parade, which meant start drinking at 8am. I on the other hand am not that crazy… and yes, I kinda like my liver. Instead, I slept in, enjoyed some breakfast and met up with the gang around 2:30pm. The best part of the day was the attention we got from our t-shirts. Steve’s friend made us custom “Team Sheen” shirts for the event. Shouts like ‘Tiger Blood” and “Winning” were heard all around us. Ha- who knew this is what Charlie Sheen would be remembered by?

Thank you Dallas for being so hospitable… But I can definitely say that I am officially too old for that scene. My recovery time was brutal. Nothing like a hungover 4 hour drive to make you hate life. HA! Anyways, happy St. patty’s day to everyone this coming Thursday :)

    Steve says

    2011 - 03.10

Steve know how to make my day! Here is a little note that he left me on my inbox:

“The most wonderful of all things in life is the discovery of another human being with whom one’s relationship has a growing depth, beauty and joy as the years increase. This inner progressiveness of love between two human beings is a most marvelous thing; it cannot be found by looking for it or by passionately wishing for it. It is a sort of divine accident, and the most wonderful of all things in life.”

Babe, I am so glad to have found you. Words can’t describe how happy I am to be by your side. In the words of Casper the ghost, “Can I keep you?”

    Pack Rat

    2011 - 02.09

You know you are dating a pack rat when you find 2 boom boxes, a walkman with a leather case and a lava lamp with stars. Steve and I were helping our friend Mark move into our home and in doing so, I was on a mission to clean house. Its crazy to see how many things you collect over time. To throw away or to keep? That is the Question.
